POSITION TITLE: BILLING SPECIALIST - LEAD

FLSA: NON-EXEMPT

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Computer knowledgeable
• Knowledge of accounts receivable.
• Experience in dealing with the public. Good communication skills.
• Experience in existing billing and reimbursement procedures for Medicaid/Medicare and private insurance.
• Billing and coding experience.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Process claims through data entry
• Process Medicare, Medicaid, HCHCP, and Third Party claims.
• Follow up and edit claims; i.e.: denials, resubmittals.
• Post Insurance Remittance Vouchers
• Assist and consults with patients regarding their claims
• Review aging of claims past ninety days
• Train all new employees to include re-training as needed
• Oversee daily billing operations and assign department tasks as needed
• Responsible for making sure remits are posted at months end
• Provide input on annual employee evaluations
• Other duties as assigned.
